How To Make A Recording Studio Under $500

As someone who is a music artist myself, I know that studio time can be a bit pricey. That is, if you have a good producer that works in a legit studio. During the beginning of the pandemic, I caught myself needing to save money. I re-evaluated my expenses and as a serious artist you will know studio time will always be in that list. I noticed I spent a lot of money on studio time, mixing, and mastering. Therefore, I finally had this epiphany. I needed to take my music to the next level. By investing in myself I saved myself thousands of dollars. One thing to take into account is there are two types of investments. The two types of investments you will always make, are either time, money, or sometimes both. If you are a music artist trying to make that jump from amateur to professional, you have to begin investing in yourself. Being a professional artist is very similar to being a business owner.

Business owners understand the types of investments that need to be made, and why they should be made. If you’re like most artists who have a 9-5 job, but are making minimum wage, I promise you this is the rout to go. You don’t not need state of the art equipment. If your will to change is greater than your will to stay the same, you will succeed. There are any people you need to be weary of when it comes to advertising equipment or reviews, because some of these people are paid to just talk about it. In most cases they don’t even use the products they are promoting, I know this first hand from working with influencers in the past. Unlike them, I not only dropped an album with this same equipment, but I even have a video where I am using the equipment I am currently promoting right now.

My advice to most music artists is worry about the audio first, and then worry about the visuals last. In this day in age, the iPhone is just enough to put some visuals out there. Many people have used an iPhone video within their music video before, and you won’t be the last. Below I attached a freestyle I did where I am using all the equipment I mentioned below my video. Again, it’s going to take some time to develop the skills of audio, but it will pay off. The freedom and ability to drop music whenever you want should be motivation to learning your basic audio skills!

In this video you will see the Audio Technica AT2020 being In Use. Make sure to like and subscribe!
