What I Do To Manage My ADHD


In todays climate I’m sure you’ve heard these key words all over social media. Words like ADHD or ADD, which was in the vocabulary of many in order to basically describe when someone was being inattentive. However, what exactly is ADHD? Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is actually a different cognitive function and not a disorder. It means to be Neuro-Divergent, which means to differ in mental or neurological function from what is considered typical or normal (frequently used with reference to autistic spectrum disorders). I once saw a YouTube video contextualize being Neuro-Divergent and Neuro-Typical the equivalent of windows and mac software. The brain resembles a computer. However, if you try to run a different software it can not be processed necessarily. This is the same with the brain, which is why Neuro-Divergents often talk about the education systems discrimination towards Neuro-Divergents which can be viewed here. Some people take medication for their ADHD, and some create rituals while learning to live with it. Creating routines helps for someone with ADHD to live with structure.

Symptoms of ADHD

  • Impulsiveness

  • Poor planning

  • Trouble multitasking

  • Low frustration tolerance

  • Poor time management skills

  • Problems focusing on a task

  • Excessive activity or restlessness

  • Disorganization and problems prioritizing


    How I Manage My ADHD

    When I’m stimulated I like to ease my symptoms by using aromatherapy, spa therapy, liquid therapy, and working out. Stimulation in ADHD is classified as an increase of quick or intense dopamine. So to combat stimulation these are the things that I do, along with links to purchase what I use.


Aromatherapy : is a holistic healing treatment that uses natural plant extracts to promote health and well-being.

Spa Therapy: This is treatment by bathing in warm water, usually with natural or added minerals or mud packs.

Tea Therapy: Tea therapy is the ancient Chinese medicinal practice of using tea and tisanes as remedies for many ills and ailments.
